| Hardin Geotech completed
an energy study for the Visteon Monroe Plant. The study covered
actions that would provide a measurable energy saving for
the term of an five-year ESA contract. Stipulated savings
were estimated although they were not part of the savings
agreement.
Several additional actions were recommended. Changes included
enhanced productivity, product quality and throughput. The
press systems were particularly important in the process.
In addition, heat recovery, especially from the tempering
ovens were completed.

Murray State College |

| Hardin Geotech designed and managed
the installation of a campus-wide system, which began with
upgrading the HVAC system to geoexchange for Murray State
College’s Zimmerman Library. This included all design,
pumping equipment, water wells, main piping, metering and
maintenance, and management of the project. Once this was
completed the College signed additional contracts to add the
Clyde Hall Classroom Building, the Student Union Building,
and the Fine Arts Building. All of which now use geoexchange.
The Zimmerman Library has about a 72 ton capacity, while the
Clyde Hall Building and Fine Arts Building collectively have
75 tons and the Student Union has about an 80 ton capacity.
Murray State College was able to
install the system without making an initial investment.
The College then pays a metered amount per 1000 gallons
of water used for heating and cooling for 30 years or has
the option to purchase the system outright at any time.
